Binxonia is a free MMORPG that runs in an ordinary browser tab. Nothing to install. Open the site, make a character, and you are standing in a world shared with everyone else who is online right now.

It is built in tribute to Ogre Island, the isometric browser MMORPG from 1999 that has not been playable for a few years. Binxonia is a separate game with no affiliation, written from scratch, and it borrows the shape of the old one: the same six attributes, free points to spend at every level, and one persistent world.

How it plays

Fights happen in real time on the map. Your class gives you a starting kit and a tilt to your stats, but it is a head start rather than a cage: every level hands you points to put wherever you like, and you can pick up new weapon proficiencies as you go. Each weapon skill unlocks its own special attacks. Mages choose a school at creation (Fire, Ice or Shock) and earn the other two through quests.

Off the battlefield there are seven tradeskills: gathering, smithing, bowyer, tailoring, leatherworking, scribing and tool smithing. Crafted gear carries its maker's name. Enchanting adds properties on top. You can sell on the marketplace, trade with another player directly, or form a guild.

Early access

The game is small and rough at the moment. Expect bugs, missing features and the occasional character wipe while the foundations settle. Updates ship often, and the news page on the site says what changed.

Free

There is nothing to pay. An optional premium currency called Platinum exists, and nothing about it is required to play.
